    Good teaching by example. They are stepping exactly to the 5 beats of the clave only and alternating feet every time. So, R-L, R-L-R....L-R, L-R-L...R-L, R-L-R... etc. and as you can see the starting foot alternates with every cycle of the clave, which can be confusing to folks who are used to starting/teaching with the same foot for every 8 counts. They also break (change direction) softly on the 2 and 5 beat, which works.

    Now I can see what is meant by “hitting the breaks!” One must really know the song well though as a starting point.

    I am so late to this story. First off, I was motivated by a woman in Germany to learn salsa, however, she couldn't be more different that the one you encountered. Also, I was already a proud hip-hip dancer, so I felt I needed to add salsa to my bag of tricks. The best thing was for both him and his young lady to learn more from you together. You're right, I learned on1, and due to the fact I developed a bunch of moves and comfort on 1, it hard for me to slow down to learn on2. What was the need to invent on2 anyway?...lol. I read about your injuries and I have to say you were a hell of a NEEDED dance influencer.

    I took the Salsa Bootcamp in 2008 in Seattle and the bootcamp in Anchorage, Alaska around around August 2012. Been dancing on and off. Edie’s bootcamp gave me a solid start. Recently signed up for classes with Jim Renn (Spokane Salsa) in Spokane, WA who performed at the Seattle congress! After all these years ran into him at the salsa congress in Kennewick, WA. We spoke of Edie’s classes and the great memories! Wish we had a reunion in Seattle!

    I could never just learn dance for girls. When I started, I had very bad anxiety. So I was trying to force myself to get out of the house and improve my social interaction. This is how I ended up in salsa. When I was learning I was so reluctant to date a woman because I didn't want to create drama inside something that was so therapeutic. The funny thing is, I got really good and had a lot of interest from women. Anyway I just thought I'd share my somewhat unique experience with starting as a dude. Also when you said the girlfriend danced cumbia, my heart just sank lol hahahahaha

    Great video, my bf is not a very masculine man but i want him to be. Also he wants to be masculine but i guees he thinks it can be big responsibility so he just doent care that much anyways I can simply break up with him but he is such a nice guy. Do you think it is just a waste of time to wait him to be masculine or how can i let him be that masculine man that he wants to be ? I dont want to waste my time for something that is never gonna happen

      J Sexton with Allograft stem cells - I felt results within one week. BUT - I did NOT push my healing. I waited a good 8 months to completely go back to normal activity. They needed to adhere and HEAL my ripped up knees. From the cartilage to the torn meniscus

      Edie The Salsa FREAK!! Thx I had it done in my wrist 2 weeks ago no results yet but was told 3 weeks to 3 months to notice results amniotic I had

    • @ediethesalsafreak
      @ediethesalsafreak 4 роки тому

      J Sexton Just don’t push it. Want to fight starts feeling better you were going to want to start cleaning the house, doing projects etc. tetra. You have to really force yourself to hold off. The stencils do their magic, but it takes months. Not weeks. You will be very prone to injure yourself again, and then blame the stem cells saying they did not work. The only reason why I know this is because I broke my foot and was forced to stay off my knees. This allowed the healing. So I in advertently figure this out.

    Hello Edie, You're looking good. You won't remember me but I took a couple of private classes in Alameda from you. That was awhile ago. Now, I'm old enough to be your grandfather, lol. Back in the day I made it a priority to take private lessons with all the great ladies, you, Janette, Josie, and Joby. Even though I lived in the SF Bay Area, I made it down to LA at least once a month: the Mayan, the Sportsman, and the Shark Club (going back, haha). Wanted to ask you about Alex. I understand if you may not want to say anything, but I knew Alex when he just started dancing here in the bay area. Never expected he would make it to Dancing with the Star. It sad to see what happened to him, I always liked him. Btw, my kids live in Denver, and don't thing I haven't thought about getting on the dance floor with you again. I get my fix out here now with a lady named Tiffany Wu. I don't know if you're familiar with her but she's an excellent dancer.

    Thank you for this video. I have been suffering from pain in both my knees for the last year and a half. I have been considering stem cells and recently been debating between amniotic or bone marrow.

    • @ediethesalsafreak
      @ediethesalsafreak 4 роки тому

      If you are over 40, I recommend you get Amniotic, aka “allograft” stem cells from a placenta from a newborn. IT ACTUALLY WORKS. My own Bone marrow did NOT work. The procedure was extremely painful and expensive. Contact Dr. Dean - www.ColoradoMedicalSolutions.com

    Is the significance of this AFTER your amniotic stem cell treatment?

    • @ediethesalsafreak
      @ediethesalsafreak 4 роки тому

      craigk621 yes. Allograft stem cell therapy on both knees one year ago. I was on crutches and literally could not walk normally due to degenerative bone-on-bone, ripped meniscus, torn PCLs from over-use (no accident happened).

    • @craigk621
      @craigk621 4 роки тому

      @@ediethesalsafreak yes I saw yr videos . You had a nightmare bone marrow treatment then a saving amniotic. I'm pretty sure the Bone Marrow company (starting with R and ending with an X ? ) is hyper critical of Amniotic. I'm in the UK , have shoulder ops (2 ) no trauma , prolo, prp lots of physio but still no good. Amniotic is illegal here, you can get bone marrow / adipose but it's £££££. Great it's working so well for you

    • @ediethesalsafreak
      @ediethesalsafreak 4 роки тому

      craigk621 can you get “Allograft” in the UK? Or can you come to the USA to have it done?

    • @craigk621
      @craigk621 4 роки тому

      @@ediethesalsafreak I think you can but only for like cancer . But you can't have the donor being from the placenta here. I know amniotic is banned. I think that's what you mean. You can get bone marrow here. Tbh to come over and have it done would be so expensive to get that It's kinda a last resort.

    • @ediethesalsafreak
      @ediethesalsafreak 4 роки тому

      craigk621 Bone marrow does not work for people over 40. If there’s something wrong with you, in your DNA, and it is Destin that you will have bad knees or a bad hip for example after the age of 40 or 50, when earth would you inject your own DNA back into your own system only to have it break again? That’s exactly what my mistake was. The only thing that worked was allograft stem cell injections here in the USA. It’s worth it! It is so worth it! Three years ago they told me I had to have both knees replaced. The cartilage has grown back in my knees, my PCL has healed, the meniscus has re-generated, and I feel like I’m 20 years old again
